Excitement Mounting for about 1200 Schools in Kenya!
Early October, Libraries for Kids announced the exciting news that they will be shipping eight containers to Kenya by July 2021. Each container will have 22,000 books and they will be distributed to 1200 schools to help them establish libraries for their learners. The excitement continues to mount in the country as stakeholders in various schools and the Kenyan team working with Libraries for Kids Int'l anxiously wait for the books to arrive.
There are about 16 counties in Kenya that are located in areas with low to zero network connectivity and there are about 12,000 rural schools in those regions. So far, libraries for Kids int'l is targeting to reach out to areas like Tseikuru and Kyuso sub-counties in Kitui. A visit in those areas will take you down the memory lane and you will get to appreciate simple things in life such as water. The local community in these regions welcomes Libraries for Kids Int'l with open arms.
